Established in 1940, before India’s independence, our institution began as a humble single-teacher school, serving the educational needs of children in and around Chirala, Prakasam District (A.P.). With growing community participation and a deep commitment to learning, it was upgraded to a five-teacher school in 1950, and later to an Upper Primary School in 1967, in response to the educational needs of rural families.

As most children came from underprivileged and rural backgrounds, many faced challenges of school dropouts due to financial hardship and lack of awareness. Recognizing this, the institution evolved into a High School in 1983, ensuring that every child could continue their education without barriers.

By 2013, as the habitation area expanded and new families from unorganized professions settled around the region, our efforts extended beyond classrooms. We initiated night schools, parent–teacher meetings, and financial support programs to reduce dropouts and encourage lifelong learning. These initiatives eventually led to the formation of the Neelam James Medical & Educational Society, a community-based organization dedicated to education, healthcare, and holistic rural development.

Today, the Society runs Elementary and Secondary Schools (Classes 1–10) providing quality education, values-based learning, and emotional support. We also conduct health camps, nutrition and dental awareness programs, youth development activities, and literacy drives to uplift families and strengthen communities.

Our mission goes beyond academics — we focus on identifying and re-enrolling school dropouts, providing vocational training for unemployed youth and women, and extending special care to physically and mentally challenged children.

Through our sustained efforts in education, healthcare, rural upliftment, and community awareness, the Neelam James Medical & Educational Society continues its legacy of transforming lives since 1940, nurturing not just minds but hearts — building a future rooted in compassion, confidence, and opportunity for all.
